This reproduction of a Japanese military sword is called a Gunto,
The swords of ordinary soldiers were mostly made of industrially usable quality. On the other hand, the swords of high-ranking military personnel were often equipped with traditionally forged master blades (while the rank of an officer could be recognized by the colors of the sageo sword). Unlike the katana, the sageo was mounted on the end of the Gunta handle.
This sword has a shinogi-zukuri style blade. Under the decorated tsuba is a traditional button with which you can draw the sword from the scabbard. The Gunto Katana's brown binding, as well as the cotton handle and lacquered scabbard of the sword.
