Scottish Claymore sword
A mainstay of the mountain warriors of the late 15th and 16th centuries, the Claymore had a uniquely shaped hilt that set it apart from other greatswords of the period. This versatile weapon can deliver large slashes or powerful punches. Copied from a surviving museum exhibit, the Hanwei Claymore is classical in its design, with distinctive slanting platforms ending in quatrefoils and a high-collared kylon block with langets following the blade tip. The leather-covered handle is topped by a round apple. Originally carried on the back.
