Description

Spatha have been known since Roman times, and were later adapted and developed by Germanic tribes. They are broad, double-edged, straight bladed cutting swords that are wielded with one hand.

It is a reconstruction of the spath as it was widespread in the area of Germanic settlement from the 1st to the 6th century. The blade is forged from high-quality spring steel and hardened to approx. 48 HRC. It has a pronounced fuller, which gives the sword great elasticity and lightness at the same time. The cutting edge is unsharpened/blunt. The handle and cross guard consist of riveted brass plates, which enclose the horn disc on the inside. The handle is made of wood, brass and horn.

The package includes a matching wooden cover. It is covered in leather and has a brass cap and medallion.
