Description

A beautiful reconstruction of a 10th century Viking sword, based on archaeological finds made in England. As early as the 8th century, isolated groups of Vikings descended sporadically on the British coast in search of easy prey. However, from the 9th century onwards, the Scandinavians changed their strategy and began to conquer land and settle in England.

This sword is exclusively handmade. The guard and characteristic handle with five ridges are forged from steel. The blade is hand riveted to the tip. The handle is with a leather strap. The blade has a recognizable charger that offers both great flexibility and less weight. The edges of the blade are not sharpened. The beautiful wooden scabbard is covered with leather and has a wooden belt loop (max. belt width 5 cm) as well as a richly decorated brass cap.

This is the regular edition of this viking sword. The same sword is also available as a practical/functional blunt version, with blunt edges and a rounded tip

- Blade material: spring steel EN45, heat treated to approx. 48 HRC
- Total length: approx. 95.5 cm
- Blade length: approx. 79 cm
- Max. blade width: approx. 43 mm
- Balance point: approx. 16 cm from the guard
- Including leather-wrapped wooden scabbard
- Weight (without cover): approx. 1200 g
