A durable, functional sharp replica of a 17th century Polish hussar saber. It is not without reason that this type was considered the most perfect form of European saber.
This Cold Steel® saber is a high performance sword inspired by early 17th century Polish sabers. Used by both mounted and infantry, these sabers had a fearsome reputation on the battlefield, not only because of the weapon-handling skills of the Polish nobles who wielded them, but also because of their phenomenal cutting potential.
Designed by bladesmith Dave Baker, the Cold Steel® interpretation of this historically significant blade is crafted from expertly heat-treated, high-carbon steel. With a fully sharpened, distally tapered and strongly curved blade, the field saber is capable of delivering exceptional cuts while remaining strong enough to thrust.
It is equipped with a solid steel guard with brass inserts and a wrist arch to protect the hands and a functional thumb ring that facilitates the reel - allowing the operator to keep the blade in continuous motion, parrying, slashing and changing direction at high speed!
With an attractive red wire-wrapped leather hilt and matching leather scabbard and with brass inserts left blank for personal engraving, this sword is as good looking as it is functional and is sure to be the pride of any European martial artist or blade enthusiast's collection.
