Description

A very nice reconstruction of a Viking sword from the 10th century based on finds from England. As early as the 8th century, isolated Vikings came to British shores in search of quick prey.

This sword is completely handcrafted. The crossguard and the typical five-prong grip are made of steel. The blade is continuous to the tip and hand riveted there. The handle is wrapped with a leather strap. The blade is forged from high-quality spring steel and hardened to approx. 48 HRC. It has a pronounced fuller, which gives the sword great elasticity and lightness at the same time. The tip of the blade and the cutting edges are blunt and rounded. The sword comes with a very nice wooden/leather scabbard with a wooden hanger as a belt loop (for belts up to 5 cm wide). The scabbard has a richly decorated brass cover.

- Blade material: spring steel EN45
- Rockwell hardness of the blade: 48 - 50 HRC
- Total length: approx. 95.5 cm
- Blade length: approx. 79.0 cm
- Impact edge, cutting edge: approx. 2 mm
- Maximum blade width: approx. 43 mm
- Center of gravity: approx. 16 cm in front of the guard
- Includes wooden/leather cover
- Weight without cover: approx. 1200 g
