Shogun Ryu Tatsu Katana - Every part of this sword has been expertly crafted by highly skilled smiths using centuries-old methods. The blade is forged from 1095 high-carbon steel and differentially clay-tempered using traditional methods, with a spine hardness Rockwelling in the range of 45-48 HRC and a harder edge of 56-58 HRC. This ancient tempering method creates a hamon - a hard visible line that remains when the clay is removed. Each blade is ground and sharp. Handcrafted in a small town located in the Longquan Mountains in Zhejiang Province, where the tradition of skilled sword making began more than 2000 years ago.
The dragon-themed tsuba and collar are exquisitely displayed; in ancient Japanese mythology, dragons represent wise, protective, and divine beings associated with water, rain, and prosperity.. The metal parts of the pommel are made of brass and have a finish. The handle is made of real ray skin wrapped with cord.
The wooden scabbard is painted black with a glossy finish.
