Roman Cavalry Sword Spatha with belt
Spatha means "broad blade" in Latin and is a double-edged, one-handed sword with a straight blade. This form of sword existed around the 1st century BC. until the end of the early Middle Ages. Spatha was used by the Romans until the fall of the Roman Empire.
Over the centuries it has appeared in various forms, notably Germanic ringswords to so-called "Viking swords", making the spathe a cross between Celtic and Roman weapon designs.

The blade of this faithful replica is made of EN45 spring steel and is not sharpened. The handle is made of wood and bone; while the sword scabbard is made of wood wrapped in leather with brass hardware and comes with a matching leather strap.
