This katana has a length of 105.5 cm with a blade of 74.5 cm and a handle (tsuka) of 30.5 cm. It has a sharp Shinogi-Zukuri style blade made of 1095 carbon steel. It is made with variations of hardness in the blade: the sharp edge (hasaki) has a hardness of HRC 60 and the back of the blade has a hardness of HRC 40.
