Sword from the movie Highlander - Katana MacLeod made by Marto from Toledo
Sword - highland katana Connor MacLeod
Based on the sword used in the movie "Highlander" - Connor Mac Leod's sword is a katana. Connor took the katana of Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, which he had probably kept since the death of his friend and mentor in 1547 (at the hands of Kurgan). The sword was completely unique: a steel katana with a carved dragon's head, an ivory hilt, and an ornate gold hilt. Even the stiff red covers were decorated with gold. Brenda Wyatt noted that the complexity of forging the blade was centuries ahead of its time. It was made by the legendary swordsmith, Masamune, as a wedding gift to Ramirez when he married his daughter Shikiko. Ramirez treasured the sword (just as he treasured his wife), noting that the weapon was "unique, like his daughter [Shikiko]".
During The Gathering in 1985, Connor used the sword in battle, successfully defeating Kurgan (in their final battle) and claiming the prize. The sword remained in his possession for the next ten years, until the blade was broken by the resurrected Immortal Kane. Connor returned to Scotland, where with the help of Dr. Alex Johnson, he was able to forge a new blade. She gave him a block of high carbon steel (forged by Connor's second mentor, Nakano, in the 16th century). Connor would once again wield his sword in battle in 1995, where he eventually defeated Kane in their climactic final battle.
