The crane is a symbol of luck and longevity, loyalty and strength, and is a very popular symbol in Japan. While developing the new Katana as an addition to the long-standing and world-renowned line of Japanese blades, Cold Steel® saw fit to add cranes as a motif.
The Mizutori® (Crane) Katana is a premium, high-performance blade inspired by older, practical battlefield katanas. The Mizutori® blade is crafted from high-quality 1095 high-carbon steel and tempered with clay-tempered Hamon. The handsome blade features a hand-sharpened Hamaguri grind with a highly polished ridge. Both the Tsuba and Menuki feature the iconic crane motif, and the high-quality rye leather handle is tightly wrapped with brown silk ribbon, adding a level of detail and beauty that you have to see to believe.
